Safety Glass and Laminated Safety Glass. - Toughened safety glass is hard to break, making it a safer, more secure glazing option. Laminated Glass offers an interlayer which holds the glass together. Not only does this make it stronger and harder to penetrate, but it also helps hold the glass together, even if the glass becomes damaged or broken!

Cable Restrictors - This plastic-coated metal cable attaches to the frame and the opening sash to prevent the sash from fully opening. This can be locked with a key, and despite being designed to prevent children from getting out, it also serves as a secondary barrier for people trying to get in if your window becomes compromised!

​Replacing Glass and re-glazing can be done for several reasons: safety, thermal efficiency, and aesthetics.

Safety
​
If you have timber windows, you probably don’t have any safety glass.
If you have uPVC windows and doors, you most likely only have safety glass in the door.
You can have safety glass fitted in any window or door in your home, and it can also be laminated for an extra layer of protection.

Thermal Efficiency
​
Glazing and Glass is rated on an energy-efficiency scale from G (worst) to A** (best).

G-rated Glass has a U-value of over 2.7 — essentially old single-glazed units.

B-rated Glass (the UK minimum standard) has a U-value of 1.4-1.6 and is commonly used in many double-glazed windows.

A**-rated Glass offers the best energy efficiency, with a U-value below 0.9 — incredible performance.
As a minimum, we work with A*-rated Glass.

Servicing - Adjustment to Existing Windows and doors
